Jahan Aghalar, MD

About Me

I am a medical oncologist and internist specializing in the care of patients with malignancies originating from the genitourinary tract, specifically prostate, bladder, kidney, and testicular cancers. I practice at Memorial Sloan Kettering’s regional site in Commack, Long Island. I am proud to be part of a dedicated multidisciplinary team that includes surgeons, radiation oncologists, oncology nurses, a social worker, and a nutritionist in providing optimal cancer care to patients who wish to be treated close to home on Long Island.

I am also a member of MSK’s Genitourinary Oncology Service. I regularly attend disease management team meetings, where I meet with colleagues from the Manhattan campus and other regional network sites to discuss patient care and to review treatment advances. Through this interaction, I participate in several clinical trials open in Commack and am able to facilitate enrollment into studies open only at MSK’s Manhattan campus.

As a medical oncologist, my constant goal is to deliver compassionate cancer care of the highest quality to all of my patients. I strongly believe that it is my duty to treat each patient as an individual, always taking into account differences in medical, psychosocial, and cultural backgrounds.

I am fluent in English and Farsi.

Clinical Trials

Research is integral to our mission at Memorial Sloan Kettering, and clinical trials help us discover better forms of patient care and treatment. For you, this could mean access to a new therapy or therapy combination. Click to see a list of the trials I’m currently leading.

Most major health insurers offer plans that include MSK as one of their in-network providers. If MSK is in-network, it means all our doctors are too. Medicaid and New York State Medicare also provide benefits for care at MSK.
