I am an interventional radiologist who specializes in minimally invasive and noninvasive image-guided procedures. My primary interest is diagnosing and treating cancers and cancer-related problems in all areas of the body except the head and neck. I have been practicing radiology since 2005 and have been at MSK since 2007.

I use a combination of imaging techniques. These include x-ray, CT, MRI, ultrasound, and PET. These techniques let me see tumors without having to make incisions. I can use these tools through tiny openings in the body or sometimes with no openings at all. Since there is less damage during image-guided procedures, more of the healthy tissue is preserved and people can recover faster.

I work with an outstanding team of doctors to provide our patients with the best cancer care. As a member of the Bone and Soft Tissue Disease Management Team, I work closely with surgeons, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, and other experts to provide input on our patients’ care.

My research interests are aimed at improving the outcomes of image-guided procedures, with a focus on accuracy and safety. I am particularly interested in improving existing image-guided techniques and developing new ones. For example, I led a large clinical trial on how well certain techniques work in image-guided needle biopsies of the lung.

I also direct the interventional radiology training program. This includes the interventional radiology fellowship program. I am involved in training medical students, radiology residents, interventional radiology and interventional oncology fellows, and visiting investigators.

Working at MSK is especially rewarding to me because it puts me at the forefront of innovations for people with cancer. I value working with people with cancer and being involved in their care.
