Matthew Kerwin, MD
General Internal Medicine; Treatment of Inpatient Oncologic Issues
As a hospitalist at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, I admit patients to Memorial Hospital and take care of them during their hospital stay. I treat a variety of medical conditions, including infections, kidney failure, respiratory problems, heart failure, and side effects of chemotherapy. My goal is to deliver patient-centered care, so I value the input of patients and their families. I work closely with my patients’ primary oncologists and surgeons. By drawing on their expertise and familiarity with the patient, we work together to provide excellent medical care.
In addition to my clinical work, I have a special interest in medical education — I supervise and teach residents — and in examining the quality of patient care. I am particularly interested in the early detection of infections and respiratory problems.
My goal is to deliver patient-centered care, so I value the input of patients and their families.
Doctors at Memorial Sloan Kettering work as teams, with specialists from all different areas. This allows us to consider all your needs together, and to give you the best possible care.
