I am a radiation oncologist who cares for patients at Memorial Sloan Kettering Rockville Centre. Our team approach allows my colleagues and me to deliver state-of-the-art care close to home. I see about 400 patients each year.
I became a radiation oncologist because I wanted a meaningful career, one where I could contribute to the body of knowledge and help people at the same time. I also wanted a challenging career that allowed me to interact with different specialists. Radiation oncology gave me that opportunity.
I treat a wide variety of cancers but have expertise in head and neck, lung, gastrointestinal, and breast cancers. I am particularly skilled in using advanced radiation techniques to treat tumors located near critical organs, both increasing the amount of radiation to the tumor and reducing the amount that reaches nearby healthy tissues. At Memorial Sloan Kettering Rockville Centre, we offer advanced radiation therapy approaches. These include intensity-modulated radiation therapy, image-guided radiation therapy, 3-D conformal radiation therapy, and high-dose-rate brachytherapy. I love working here because our staff and nurses are simply the best. I also enjoy taking part in our tumor boards, which give me the opportunity to share MSK’s expertise with other local physicians.
I am also actively involved in cancer research. I hope to turn advances made in the laboratory into cutting-edge therapies for my patients. I have worked on a variety of clinical research projects, including studies involving ways to minimize side effects and late effects of radiation for head and neck cancers; ways to use balloon brachytherapy to treat brain tumors that return after treatment; and ways to ensure our patients receive needed vaccines. I am also interested in testing new drugs that make cells more sensitive to radiation therapy, called radiosensitizers.
Patients are often concerned about how their treatment may impact their lifestyle. I hope after meeting me, they feel reassured that we will do the best for them. We strive to discuss management of side effects, reduce damage, and connect them with nutritionists, social workers, and other resources who can help them.
Outside of work, I love classical Indian dance, cooking, volleyball, and traveling.

As home to one of the world’s top cancer research centers, Memorial Sloan Kettering is typically involved in more than 900 clinical trials at a given time. Currently, clinical trials focused on the conditions I treat are enrolling new patients. Most major health insurers offer plans that include MSK as one of their in-network providers. If MSK is in-network, it means all our doctors are too. Medicaid and New York State Medicare also provide benefits for care at MSK.Learn more
