Male Breast Cancer Clinical Trials & Research

Historically, treatment for male breast cancer has been adapted from what we learn about research looking at breast cancer in women. But thanks in part to new studies that have found molecular differences between breast cancers in men and women, our clinical investigators are beginning to study the unique aspects of male breast cancer. This allows them to offer personalized care for all of our patients.

You may be offered the opportunity to take part in a clinical trial during your treatment. Clinical trials are research studies that evaluate the safety and effectiveness of new treatment approaches for diseases. In some cases, a study may give you access to new therapies that are not yet readily available.

Sometimes we use clinical trials to compare diagnostic tests, prevention strategies, or other aspects of care. We only conduct trials that we believe may improve some aspect of treatment and outcomes. You should always discuss the pros and cons of participating in a clinical trial with your doctor.
