We are seeking a highly motivated candidate, interested in sequencing data analysis, for a position as a postdoctoral fellow.

The successful candidate should have solid methodological training in (bio)statistics, be comfortable developing simulations, and be proficient in R. Prior experience with genomics data analysis is a plus.

The successful applicant will work with Dr. Li-Xuan Qin to develop novel statistical methods and software tools for preprocessing and analyzing deep sequencing data, including microRNA-seq and single-cell-seq. S/he will have the opportunity to study carefully benchmarked empirical data, develop preprocessing methods in connection with downstream analysis, and apply the methods to ongoing cancer studies in collaboration with experimentalists and clinicians at MSK and other institutes.

To apply, send a cover letter, CV, and the names of 3 references to Samantha Vasquez.

We are seeking a highly motivated candidate, interested in statistical and computational cancer genomics, for a position as a postdoctoral fellow. This position will focus on the integration of large-scale sequencing data from public and local resources to understand the role of germline and somatic variants and their interactions in cancer and on developing phylogenetics methodology in understanding tumor evolution.

Applicants should hold a Ph.D. degree in biostatistics, statistics, bioinformatics, or a related field, ideally with experience in next generation sequencing data analysis including whole-exomes and whole-genomes. The successful candidate should have solid methodological training in statistics, be comfortable working with large data sets, proficient in at least one of the statistical programming languages R/Matlab/Python and have experience working on Unix/Linux systems and basic shell scripting.

The successful applicant will be supervised jointly by Drs. Ronglai Shen and Colin Begg. To apply, send a cover letter, cv, and the names of 3 references to Samantha Vasquez (vasques2@mskcc.org) and Ronglai Shen (shenr@mskcc.org): Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, 485 Lexington Avenue, New York, NY 10017.
