In conjunction with the Druckenmiller Center for Lung Cancer Research and The David Lyden Laboratory at Weill Cornell Medical School, the Thoracic Surgery Oncology Research program at MSKCC is searching for an outstanding post-doctoral scientist with a strong interest in translational research focused on the biology of lung cancer metastases. Working collaboratively, the Jones and Lyden laboratories are focused on the role of Extracellular Vesicles and Particles (EVP) as biomarkers of recurrence and organotropism in in lung adenocarcinoma. Mechanistic studies using standard molecular biology assays, bioinformatics, as well as mouse modeling are part of the research program. Therefore, candidates with experience in these research methodologies are encouraged to apply. We also are seeking candidates with a strong molecular and tumor biology background with an interest in lung cancer and the biology of metastases. The candidate will have the opportunity to interact with investigators with expertise in lung cancer biology, translational therapeutics, and molecular pathology.
PhD or MD/PhD equivalent in biological science is required. Proficiency with molecular biology, biochemistry, transgenic mice, RNA-seq, biospecimen handling, DNA, RNA, and protein assays is required.
