Current Paradigms in Interventional Pulmonology: Endobronchial Ultrasound, Interventional Bronchoscopy and Beyond

CME

This course is intended for practicing Pulmonologists, Intensivists and Thoracic Surgeons, as well as trainees, interested in advancing their understanding of ultrasound and its implementation in the pleural space as well as the mediastinum via endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS), interventional bronchoscopy for diagnostics and therapeutics and airway management. The hands on portion of the course will be limited to 30 participants to allow for maximum interaction with course faculty and ample hands-on experience. After the 30 hands-on slots are filled, participants may register for the lecture-only portion. At the completion of this course, participants should have an improved understanding of the science and application of:

  • Thoracic Ultrasound
  • Ultrasound-Guided Pleural Procedures
  • Endobronchial Ultrasound and Lymph Node staging
  • Advanced Diagnostic Bronchoscopy for peripheral pulmonary lesions
  • Specimen Processing
  • Airway anatomy, interventions and management

Course Design

This course is comprised of lectures and interactive audience participation encouraging the intellectual exchange of ideas between faculty and participants, as well as a hands-on workshop (for a limited number of attendees).
