Building Your Social Brand to Advance Your Career

LinkedIn is a ubiquitous career platform that is utilized by over 300 million professionals. This incredibly useful tool can be used to help you maintain existing professional relationships and build new connections.

Establishing a strong LinkedIn presence will also allow you to brand your skills, experiences, and accomplishments in a way that is most appealing to future employers. Whether you want to pursue an academic or non-academic career, a strong LinkedIn profile will help differentiate you from your competitors.

Join Alana Silverman, the Manager of Social Enterprise Collaboration at MSK and the former Administrator of the Office of Career Services, in discussing how to build a powerful social brand on LinkedIn.

During this seminar, you will learn:

  • How to create a virtual brand through LinkedIn
  • How to create an effective LinkedIn profile that will be enticing to potential collaborators and employers
  • How to grow and maintain your network by connecting with people on LinkedIn
  • How to use LinkedIn to help with the job search

After the seminar a professional photographer will take headshots that can be used for your LinkedIn and OneMSK profile pictures. If you intend to take a photo, please come to the event in attire that is standard for your desired field of employment.
