Caring for the Oncology Patient Receiving Radiation Therapy: Treatment and Management Strategies



This program is designed to enable the learner to accurately manage the side effects of radiation. The program will provide a foundation which the nurse learner will be able to use to educate patients and their families regarding the short and long term side effects of radiation, as well as strategies to improve the patient’s quality of life. 


New and experienced nurses who care for patients receiving radiation therapy.


Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center–Nursing Professional Development /Continuing Education is accredited with distinction as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

6.5 contact hours will be awarded to participants who attend the entire program and complete a program evaluation. No partial credit will be awarded.
