Currently, mindfulness meditation is one of the most widely studied and utilized variation of meditation within medical settings. The widespread experience of a loss of control, uncertainty, and constant change are some of the most challenging aspects of coping with cancer. Mindfulness based interventions can help people with cancer and their families and caregivers cope across a broad range of symptoms and issues, both during and after the completion of active treatment including improvements in stress, anxiety, depression, fatigue and sleep problems. This session will introduce participants to this important Mind Body Practice and offer simple and accessible mindfulness tools.
