The constant focus on cancer and its treatment can be overwhelming and stressful. Sometimes you just need a break. At Memorial Sloan Kettering’s Patient Recreation Pavilion, we offer adult patients and their visitors a wide range of activities and entertainment events and access to an outdoor terrace.

Our Recreation Specialists lead patients in painting with watercolors, woodworking, decoupage, working with mosaic tiles, and other projects. A number of these craft projects are available for patients to do in their rooms.

Bingo, group Scrabble games, and Las Vegas Nights (with roulette, blackjack, and poker) help to encourage conversation and connections. Live performances by students from the Juilliard School, the Mannes School of Music, the Gotham Comedy Foundation, and other world-class organizations similarly draw lots of visitors.

A Sanctuary from the Hospital Routine

Many people visit our light-filled pavilion just to get away from it all, enjoy the view, meet with family and friends in relaxed surroundings, contribute to the eternal jigsaw puzzle, play pool, or read a book.
