The Kimmel Center was designed to offer our patients a modern and comfortable treatment environment that brings together teams of experts in many aspects of care, including cancer detection, urologic surgery, medical oncology, radiation oncology, pathology, radiology, and sexual rehabilitation.. Our staff also includes psychiatrists, psychologists, rehabilitation therapists, and social workers who are dedicated to supporting you and your loved ones throughout your treatment and helping you return to a fully functional life.
No two cancers are alike – and, similarly, no two sets of life circumstances are the same. At the Kimmel Center, we pay close attention to the individual opportunities and challenges you might face during treatment and recovery. A cornerstone of our approach is to learn as much as we can about the behavior and risks of your disease, as well as your personal goals and quality-of-life concerns. Each of these considerations is taken into account as we develop a well-informed treatment approach that is optimal for you.
Memorial Sloan Kettering experts are recognized worldwide for their pioneering research and treatment innovation in prostate and other urologic cancers. Today, we are able to offer our patients more effective and personalized treatment options than ever before – thanks to an improved understanding of the basic biology underlying the diseases, along with recent innovations in medicine and technology.
Many of our physicians are developing new drugs and diagnostic methods for prostate and urologic cancers, and are leading clinical trials of innovative therapies and technologies. Memorial-Sloan Kettering investigators are also pioneering the use of high-precision and image-guided technology for surgery and radiation, allowing us to increase the effectiveness of such treatments while diminishing the risks of adverse side effects.
Because of our active research agenda, many Kimmel Center patients who qualify as candidates for a clinical study have access to innovative treatments or diagnostic approaches that are not available at most hospitals. Learn more about clinical trials at Memorial Sloan Kettering.
