The original New York Cancer Hospital (left) and our current hospital on East 68th Street.
This year, Memorial Sloan Kettering celebrates 130 years of tremendous progress in our quest to eradicate cancer. Today we are able to find many cancers at their early, most curable stages; combine novel therapies to halt or slow the growth of tumors whenever possible; and improve quality of life for those living with the disease.
Thanks to the efforts of MSK’s pioneering founders and those who followed, the number of cancer survivors in the United States is now approaching 14 million and climbing.
Join us in celebrating 130 years as the nation’s top hospital for cancer care and view the slideshow below for a look back at where MSK started and where we are today.
