As active members of the treatment team, nurse practitioners and nurses play an essential role in caring for children and young adults. Nurses bring extraordinary knowledge, experience, and expertise to patient care, and will help you and your child through your inpatient or outpatient experience at Memorial Sloan Kettering.

Our social workers stay in close contact with families to meet any practical and psychosocial needs. Social workers provide counseling, information, and assistance throughout the course of treatment, and can direct you to additional resources. Our child life specialists, teachers, patient and program coordinators, session assistants, and physician-office assistants also work together to help your child and family in the hospital and at home during treatment periods.
