I joined Memorial Sloan Kettering as a clinical nurse specialist in 2010, after more than 20 years of working in this capacity and as an advance practice nurse. I care for people with both solid and liquid tumors such as lymphoma, multiple myeloma, and head and neck tumors.

In addition to caring for patients and educating them about cancer, I help with staff education and development and collaborate with nurse leaders to shape and implement goals for our unit. I also monitor our clinical practice to ensure that we are complying with established standards, and assist in creating a climate for effective use of our research to ensure an evidence-based nursing practice.

I am involved in nursing in other ways as well. I participate on several Memorial Sloan Kettering committees that review our practice related to chemotherapy administration, and focus on ensuring evidence-based care as well as continuous quality improvement.
