Christopher M. Brooks

I joined Memorial Sloan Kettering as an oncology nurse in 1995 and have worked in various areas of the institution including inpatient neurology and orthopaedics, the Post Anesthesia Care Unit, and the Urgent Care Center.

While pursuing my master of science degree in nursing I expanded my professional career to include human resource management, working as a nurse recruiter for Memorial Sloan Kettering. I eventually began teaching undergraduate and graduate nursing at New York University and the College of Mount Saint Vincent.

Since 2012 I have been a clinical nurse specialist in ambulatory care services at the hospital, and work with patients in the areas of infusion (intravenous) nursing (administering and monitoring fluid and medication injections), hematologic oncology, and adult bone marrow transplantation. I provide leadership, clinical expertise, and consultation to staff nurses in these areas.

I played an integral role in the formation of the ambulatory clinical nurse specialist group at Memorial Sloan Kettering, and currently serve as its inaugural chair. A major goal of the group is to assist nursing leadership in implementing system-wide changes that improve outcomes for our patients.
