Kathy Choo

I began my nursing career at Memorial Sloan Kettering in 1984, caring for adult and pediatric transplant patients in a laminar air-flow environment (a contaminant-free environment). As the clinical nurse specialist on the adult inpatient transplant unit, I work with the nurse leader and clinical staff to promote a culture of excellence in the care of our patients.

I am responsible for implementing new policies in the unit, educating the staff about new practices, and developing  educational services to support institutional initiatives such as the prevention of central line-associated blood stream infection. I present materials to enhance our ongoing staff educational opportunities through our Overview of Hematologic Malignancies and Nursing Considerations Program and the Bone Marrow Transplant/HST Program.
