I initially joined Memorial Sloan Kettering as a clinical nurse. After completing graduate studies in 2013, I became a nurse practitioner.

I have had the privilege of caring for patients through the various stages of transplantation. When I first came to Memorial Sloan Kettering, I worked on the inpatient bone marrow transplant unit where my responsibilities included helping patients and their families during the acute transplant phase. Subsequently I administered chemotherapy and provided pre- and post- transplant care and teaching guidance within the outpatient chemotherapy department.

Now, as a nurse practitioner and member of the Adult Bone Marrow Transplant Service, I am responsible for screening potential donors, performing bone marrow biopsies, and helping patients in the post-transplant setting.

I was inspired to choose this field by my stepmother, who is an oncology nurse. Over the years she shared with me moving stories about the strength and resilience of patients and families. Because I gravitated toward a specialty in bone marrow transplantation early on in my career, I have had the opportunity to care for many wonderful patients and assist them through a difficult period in their lives.
