Share

Many people with acoustic neuroma (vestibular schwannoma) first notice changes in their hearing and balance. As the tumor grows, it may press on your brain stem and other nerves in your brain and worsen these symptoms.

The symptoms can include:

  • gradual hearing loss on one side
  • tinnitus (ringing in the ear)
  • vertigo (dizziness)
  • loss of balance
  • numbness or weakness in the face
  • headaches
  • double vision
  • nausea and vomiting

If you experience one or more of these symptoms and aren’t sure what’s causing them, contact your doctor.
