Appointments for Cancer Treatment

If you are interested in receiving treatment at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, please contact our Physician Referral Service. People with cancer, as well as their family members, caregivers, and healthcare professionals are welcome to request information or an appointment by calling 800-525-2225.

CancerSmart Lectures & Videos

CancerSmart community education lectures are free and provide informative, up-to-date discussions on important issues in cancer. Counseling Center

The Counseling Center of Memorial Sloan Kettering offers outpatient psychiatric and behavioral health services (including specialty programs such as neuropsychological testing, tobacco cessation, and family and couples counseling) to patients, their families, and caregivers. All people with cancer are welcome, regardless of where you are receiving care. For more information, please contact us at 212-888-0200.

Financial Assistance Program

Memorial Sloan Kettering is committed to providing financial assistance to patients in need. The Financial Assistance Program provides help to eligible uninsured and underinsured patients who cannot get publicly funded health insurance and cannot afford to pay for their medical care. Uninsured or underinsured patients with household income up to five times the federal poverty level may be eligible for financial assistance. For more information, please contact us at 212-639-3810.

Free Cancer Screenings

Since 1985, Memorial Sloan Kettering has offered free annual screenings for head and neck cancers and skin cancers to promote the message that early detection and regular screenings can improve treatment outcomes. Free screenings take place in the spring at our sites in Manhattan; Hauppauge, Long Island; and Basking Ridge, New Jersey. Health Fairs

Memorial Sloan Kettering frequently participates in health fairs and other community outreach initiatives that focus on cancer-related topics. Because of our staff’s commitments, we request a minimum of one month’s notice to determine whether we are able to participate. Integrative Medicine Service

The Integrative Medicine Service offers complementary therapies for adults and children who are undergoing cancer treatment, cancer survivors who have completed treatment, caregivers for people with cancer, and members of the community. We provide services to patients and families receiving cancer treatment at Memorial Sloan Kettering, and for those receiving treatment at other institutions. Our services include massage therapy, acupuncture, mind-body therapies such as meditation and self-hypnosis, fitness training, nutritional guidance, and dietary supplement counseling. Office of Clinical Research, Diversity Research Program

The Office of Clinical Research supports and provides oversight for the quality program of clinical research within Memorial Sloan Kettering. To better serve and reach diverse communities, the office supports existing resources for cancer care at three community-based healthcare facilities in Brooklyn, Queens, and Harlem. Memorial Sloan Kettering research studies are open at these sites to support cancer care, screening, and education activities. Office of Diversity Programs in Clinical Care, Research, and Training

The Office of Diversity Programs in Clinical Care, Research, and Training strives to reduce cancer health disparities based on race, ethnicity, culture, and socioeconomic status. Partnership Community Outreach Program

The Partnership Community Outreach Program is a component of the City College of New York/Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center Partnership for Cancer Research, Training, and Community Outreach. The program works to establish, strengthen, support, and sustain relationships with key segments of the community in order to define and meet needs and to address cancer health disparities. Resources for Life After Cancer

The Resources for Life After Cancer program offers educational services that focus on treatment-specific issues, support groups led by professionals, and consultation and advice on survivorship concerns including insurance, sexual health, and employment. Speakers from Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center are available to present information on cancer-related topics to community groups. Ralph Lauren Center for Cancer Care and Prevention

Located in Harlem, the Ralph Lauren Center for Cancer Care and Prevention provides cancer screening and treatment services in partnership with Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. For more information, please call 212-987-1777.

Survivorship Initiative

The Survivorship Initiative offers comprehensive services for cancer survivors and their families, including a survivorship research effort that addresses issues of critical importance to survivors nationwide. We also publish a newsletter and educational videos on topics of interest to cancer survivors.

Tobacco Treatment Program

Memorial Sloan Kettering’s Tobacco Treatment Program provides state-of-the-art treatment for tobacco dependence. The program serves not only people with cancer, but also their family members who smoke and individuals from the community who wish to reduce their cancer risk. We also welcome requests from community organizations who would like to invite one of our experts to make a presentation on tobacco dependence and treatment.
