The Mammadi Soudavar Traveling Fellowship

Share

The New York Community Trust’s Mammadi Soudavar Traveling Fellowship was established in the New York in 1981 by Fereidoon and Shamsi Soudavar as a memorial to their son, Mammadi. The fellowship was designed as an opportunity for qualified physicians from across the world to study in cancer centers and bring their knowledge back to their country. In 1985, the Alireza Soudavar Memorial Fellowship Fund was established by the Soudavar family to honor their other son, and to promote cancer education and research.

The program at Memorial Sloan Kettering supports qualified applicants from across the world to participate in a period of observation and education. The scholars are supported with travel costs and a monthly living stipend of approximately $5,000 per month. The duration of this funded fellowship is three months. Successful applicants will be physicians who have completed residency training and who are committed to furthering the understanding of cancer care. Preference is given to applicants under the age of 45.
