Share

This one-year fellowship provides extensive experience in imaging of the chest, abdomen, pelvis, and extremities for adult and pediatric cancer patients.  Rotations during the year include*:

  • 26 weeks (6 months) MRI
  • 12 weeks CT
  • 6 weeks elective**
  • 4 weeks PET/CT
  • 4 weeks ultrasound

*4 weeks of vacation time can be scheduled throughout the year.

**Elective time can be a mix of any variety of subspecialties chosen by the fellow e.g. breast, cardiac, neuro, IR, etc, including 2 weeks of musculoskeletal imaging at neighboring Hospital for Special Surgery, and/or research.

The body OI fellow actively participates in the performance and interpretation of studies, as well as in consultations with clinical staff.  Fellows attend and participate in various multidisciplinary clinical conferences (Disease Management Teams). There is also a great deal of support should fellows wish to participate with faculty in clinical research projects.  On-call responsibilities are approximately 1 in 17 (shared between the 11 body OI fellows and the 6 breast/body fellows) until 10pm with radiology residents and fellows working in parallel with concurrent oversight by a faculty radiologist.
