End Year

2009

I grew up in Morgantown, WV (Go Mountaineers!) but have lived in the Northeast for the past decade. I went to college at Yale and stayed for my medical training. I took some time off in between, however, and worked in healthcare management consulting here in New York. I am excited to return to New York for my residency training. After my year here at Memorial, I will be completing my ophthalmology residency at NYU/Manhattan Eye, Ear, and Throat Hospital. Outside of medicine, I am an avid skier and enjoy being outdoors and spending time with friends and family.

I could not have picked a better place to do my internship year. While intern year is difficult regardless of the program, we here at MSKCC enjoy an unparalleled amount of personal attention. We are a small program that is not attached to any categorical program. This means that our program director Dr. Egan and the chiefs are completely invested in our educational experience. We also have a lot of time to explore the unique and diverse array of subspecialties that Cornell and MSKCC have to offer through our electives. I am very happy in my choice to come to MSKCC, and I strongly recommend the program to anyone who is interested in a transitional year.
