Head of Radiation Dosimetry
Share

I arrived at Memorial Sloan Kettering as a research associate in 1980 and subsequently entered the postdoctoral training program. I have held staff positions in the External Beam Treatment Planning and Radiation Dosimetry sections within the Clinical Physics Service of the Department of Medical Physics. I am currently the head the department’s Radiation Dosimetry section.

In this role, I supervise the commissioning of new hardware and software for the Clinical Physics Service and oversee quality assurance of CT machines, linear accelerators, and radiotherapy treatment and delivery systems for our human and animal studies. I work with our bioengineers and service representatives to correct problems with the linear accelerators and ancillary equipment, and help with the design and commissioning of special therapeutic procedures. I also provide lectures and hands-on training for residents in radiation oncology and medical physics.

My research interests involve interinstitutional dosimetry studies and developing techniques and tools for the delivery and quality assurance of intensity-modulated radiotherapy with multileaf collimators.
