Amy started her career as a nurse on the oncology floor at Seton Medical Center in Austin while pursuing her masters of science in nursing degree at the University of Texas at Austin. After graduating and receiving her clinical nurse specialist certification, she began working as an advanced practice nurse at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. She managed patients in the outpatient lymphoma service for approximately two years before realizing her passion for clinical research and becoming a clinical research advanced practice nurse in the lymphoma service, where she cared for patients for the next six years. Amy jumped at the chance to move to New York City and continue her career as a clinical research nurse at Memorial Sloan Kettering, where she managed protocols and cared for patients on clinical trials in the Lymphoma Service.
In 2016, Amy became Director of Clinical Trials Nursing since 2016. She has been enjoying growing and helping further integrate the clinical trials nursing workforce into clinical research at MSK ever since. She’s excited to work with an exceptional group of nurses and NPs in the Department of Nursing and to highlight the unique and essential role of clinical trials nursing in a successful clinical research program.
