Esteban Mendoza is an Assistant General Counsel in the Office of Technology Development, where he serves in the Contracts unit. He joined Memorial Sloan Kettering in 2017.
Previously Esteban spent three years as a Senior Clinical & Corporate Officer at the University of Pittsburgh, where his responsibilities included drafting and negotiating various research-related agreements, including clinical trial agreements and collaboration agreements, with industry and academic partners. From 2011 through 2014, he served as an Industry Contracts Officer at the University of California, San Francisco, co-heading its digital health contracts team. He also worked as an Intellectual Property Associate Attorney at Cooley LLP, based in San Francisco and Palo Alto.
Esteban received his JD degree from University of California, Berkeley School of Law in 2006. He received his BS in chemistry from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1997. His scientific research experience includes working on chemo-biosynthetic routes to create novel derivatives of complex, natural-occurring anticancer agents as a Senior Research Assistant at Kosan Biosciences and on developing next-generation antifungal therapies as an Assistant Scientist II at GPC Biotech.
