Jean M. St. Germain, MS

Vice Chair, Department of Medical Physics; Chief, Radiation Safety Service

I am an attending physicist, Corporate Radiation Safety Officer, and Vice Chair for Clinical and Educational Affairs for the Department of Medical Physics.

My group provides radiation safety services for all of Memorial Sloan Kettering’s campuses. Specifically, we offer radiation shielding design services for new and renovated facilities to ensure a safe working environment for our staff, patients, and visitors.

My research interests include developing methods to enhance imaging applications and to increase the effectiveness of radiation therapy. I am certified in comprehensive health physics by the American Board of Health Physics and in medical health physics by the American Board of Medical Physics, on which I served as Vice Chair. I am also a fellow of the Health Physics Society and the American Association of Physicists in Medicine, which honored me with its Distinguished Service Award.
