
Karen Brown is an Assistant General Counsel in the Office of Technology Development. She joined Memorial Sloan Kettering in 2022 and is a member of OTD’s Contracts unit that handles clinical research agreements.
Previously, Karen was a Managing Attorney in the Law Offices of Karen Brown, LLC. She also has served in a number of other roles, including as Medical Center IT Operations Contract Manager in NYU Langone Health’s Contracts Management/Procurement Business Services department; Borough Attorney, for the Borough of Roselle, in New Jersey; Corporation Counsel and Head of the Law Department for the City of Newark; and as Chief Municipal Court Judge and Judge of the Municipal Court of Passaic and Paterson, New Jersey, respectively.
Karen received her JD from Rutgers School of Law-Newark, and her BA degree in Criminal Justice from Seton Hall University. She has completed a certification course from the University of Pennsylvania in Privacy Law and Data Protection. She is admitted to the Bar in New Jersey, New York, and the United States District Court-District of NJ.
