Lung Cancer Biology
Fiona and Stanley Druckenmiller Center for Lung Cancer Research
Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, New York, NY
In conjunction with the Druckenmiller Center for Lung Cancer Research, the Thoracic Surgery Oncology Research program at MSKCC is searching for an outstanding scientist with a strong interest in translational research focused on the biology of lung cancer metastases. Our laboratory focuses on signal transduction pathways involved in epithelial-mesenchymal transition and on specific metastasis suppressor genes. The other focus of the laboratory is in the discovery of novel A-to-I editing pathways and their mechanism of action in lung cancer with an ultimate goal to identifying potential therapeutic targets. We are seeking candidates with a strong molecular and tumor biology background with experience in lung cancer tumor biology, xenograft and transgenic animal models of metastases, and the biology of metastases. The candidate will have the opportunity to interact with investigators with expertise in the biology of lung cancer, translational therapeutics, and molecular pathology.
PhD or equivalent in biological science is required. Proficiency with molecular biology, biochemistry, transgenic mice, gene expression arrays, DNA, RNA, and protein assays is required. Preferred applicants will have 3-4 years of experience at a minimum.
