The lab welcomes applications for both graduate training and postdoctoral positions. We participate in the Gerstner Sloan-Kettering Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences and in the graduate programs offered by Weill Cornell Medical College, including the Computational Biology and Medicine program, the MD/PhD program, and the Physiology, Biophysics, and Systems Biology program.
Prospective graduate students may apply directly to any of the above graduate programs and mention Gunnar Rätsch in their application. Candidates should also feel free to get in contact with Gunnar Rätsch before submitting their application to discuss the various programs, the research environment, and the laboratory’s research.
Students who are already enrolled in a graduate program and wish to explore the possibility of rotating in the lab should send a CV and a brief statement of interest to Gunnar Rätsch.
Ideal candidates have a solid technical education in areas such as computer science, statistics, math, or physics, and a vivid interest in molecular biology or health informatics.
Postdoc applicants should have a PhD in statistics, computational biology, biology, medicine, or a related field; a solid publication record; and strong professional references. The ideal candidate has demonstrated experience in the analysis of genomic or medical data, knowledge of molecular biology, and significant programming experience pertinent to the analysis of large and diverse datasets.
Candidates should send a research statement, a CV, and a cover letter including names of three referees to Gunnar Rätsch. If funding via a fellowship is possible, please contact Gunnar Rätsch in order to discuss his support and possible research projects.
