Computational Biology Postdoctoral Position

We are looking for a talented and creative computational biology postdoc for a jointly mentored position between my lab in the Computational and Systems Biology Program at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) and the lab of Jose Baselga, Physician-in-Chief at MSK and member of MSK’s Human Oncology and Pathogenesis Program.  The Baselga lab studies mechanisms of resistance to targeted therapies in solid tumors and is leading efforts at Memorial to make precision oncology a clinical reality.  A strong recent focus in the Baselga lab has been the epigenetics of response to PI3K inhibition in estrogen receptor (ER) positive breast cancer.  The ideal candidate would combine excellent computational skills for the analysis of next-generation sequencing data sets (e.g. ATAC-seq, ChIP-seq, RNA-seq) with a strong interest in cancer biology and the mechanistic study of gene regulation.  This is an academic career track postdoc for a motivated computational scientist who wishes to transition into computational cancer biology, interact with oncologists and cancer biologists at a world-leading cancer center, and engage in research with strong clinical relevance.  The postdoc would pursue first author/co-first author papers driven by computational analysis and methods while also collaborating or consulting on computational aspects of other projects in the Baselga lab.

Memorial Sloan Kettering offers a strong computational biology community, an outstanding basic biology institute, and a highly collaborative atmosphere where computational scientists, cancer biologists and clinicians all work together.  Researchers have ready access to clinical samples and large internally generated cancer genomics resources.  We also offer competitive salaries, guaranteed postdoctoral housing for 3 years at reasonable rental rates, access to pro-rated childcare, and numerous career and professional development resources.  Interested candidates should send their c.v. and research statement for immediate consideration.
