The Resh Lab’s focus is on understanding how lipid modification modifies the structure and function of secreted signaling proteins in normal and cancer cells. Our model systems include Hedgehog and Wnt proteins and their respective lipid modifying enzymes, Hedgehog acyltransferase (Hhat) and Porcupine. We are currently developing drugs that target Hhat for chemotherapeutic treatment of hedgehog-driven cancers. [Nature Chem. Biol. The ideal candidate will have recently received a PhD in either Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology or Pharmacology, and will have a published record of accomplishment. Prior research experience with protein and/or membrane protein biochemistry, biochemical signaling assays, and cell culture is essential.
