“To raise new questions, new possibilities, to regard old problems from a new angle, requires creative imagination and marks real advance in science”. Albert Einstein
I knew I wanted to be a scientist since the 7th grade, when all my colleagues where talking about being lawyers, teachers or hairdressers. Science allows me to come up with new ideas and constantly challenging them. I’m originally from the sunny Portugal, where I took my PhD in Biomedicine of chronic diseases, more specifically in membrane trafficking and cell signaling. The basic/fundamental biology background makes me want to go deep and further in the knowledge of cancer mechanisms and how to circumvent them.
Now, I am a post-doc, research fellow, focused in determining the mechanism of action of a new drug inhibitor of MAPK signaling and how it can be used in lymphoma patients for a better outcome.
