Cancer germline (CG) antigens (also known as cancer-testis antigens) are proteins generally exclusively expressed by human germline cells, but are also highly expressed by multiples tumor types. My research focuses on understanding the role that CG antigens play in the response to cancer immunotherapy. Specifically, I use human data from ongoing clinical immunotherapy trials and mouse models to 1) understand the mechanisms of immune modulation of immunotherapy in the presence of CG antigens, 2) develop better therapeutic strategies by directly targeting CG antigens.
