Project description:

My research centers around the interaction between dietary choices and patterns and impact on the gastrointestinal microbiota. Through inpatient and outpatient collection of stool samples and robust daily dietary monitoring in allogeneic cell transplant (Allo-HCT), autologous hematopoietic cell transplant (Auto-HCT), and chimeric antigen receptor t-cell infusion (CAR-T) recipients, we observe dietary patterns and perturbations that are associated with protective and disruptive alterations to the gastrointestinal microbiota, resulting in associations with impacts on clinical outcomes. Future studies plan to translate these findings to the pre-clinical space and to interventional models to experimentally test the hypotheses drawn from our observations.
