I completed my PhD at the University of Toronto, studying the molecular mechanisms of alpha-catenin function in cadherin-based cell adhesion during Drosophila development. I started my postdoctoral research in November 2013 and am using the three-dimensional Caco-2 cell culture system to explore the molecular mechanisms that underlie K-Ras-mediated loss of epithelial cell polarity, and to identify novel gene candidates that cooperate with oncogenic K-Ras to promote invasion of primary tumors.
