The Brain Tumor Center at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center provides comprehensive care for patients with primary brain tumors and metastatic brain tumors. Physicians at the Brain Tumor Center also have high-level expertise in treating spine tumors, pituitary tumors, acoustic neuroma, and other cancers of the central nervous system.

Our multidisciplinary team of doctors includes neuropathologists, neurosurgeons, neuro-oncologists, neuroradiologists, radiation oncologists, and neuropsychologists. By bringing together experts in these highly specialized areas to work as a team, we offer our patients a personalized approach to care.

Because of the high number of patients that our doctors see, we have extensive experience providing:

  • Expert diagnosis that ensures you receive the correct treatment
  • Frameless stereotaxy, which uses imaging technologies to plan procedures in ways that avoid damaging important functional areas
  • Advanced surgical approaches that use MRI during an operation to ensure superior precision
  • Innovative approaches to chemotherapy, including targeted therapies
  • Radiation therapy techniques, including stereotactic radiosurgery and image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT), that deliver high doses of radiation to a tumor while sparing healthy tissue

The Brain Tumor Center fosters close collaboration between Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center’s physicians and scientists. This means that we are constantly working to improve the ways in which we diagnose and treat brain tumors, and offer our patients access to innovative techniques, new drugs, and clinical trials of the most-advanced treatment approaches.

We also offer a broad range of psychosocial support programs designed to help patients and family members cope with the complete spectrum of issues that can arise during treatment.
