Tambudzai Shamu is a proud native of Zimbabwe who works as a research technician in the Sawyers Lab. She joined the lab in 2007 after obtaining her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Viterbo University in La Crosse, Wisconsin on a full scholarship.

Before joining MSKCC she had the opportunity to intern in labs at the Mayo Clinic, Yale University and has also worked at the Centers for Disease Control in their Global Aids Program. Tambu is currently working on evaluating the role of Erg in prostate tumorigenesis through the use of animal models. She is enjoying her experience at Sloan Kettering and is looking forward to the future!
