We are seeking a Research Technician to provide laboratory support for the Massagué Laboratory in the Cancer Biology and Genetics Program.
In this role, the candidate works on laboratory experiments/projects. Normally receives detailed instructions while making observations, analyzing data and interpreting results according to laboratory procedures. The Research Technician will provide support to research staff in the lab. May assist in developing new methods and technologies for project advancement and participate in lab meetings and preparation of research papers.
The ideal candidate will have some experience performing established laboratory procedures (tissue culture, RNA extraction, RT-PCR, Western blot, bioinformatics), have excellent time-management skills, effective communicator, able to operate effectively in a team setting and eager to take on new opportunities and challenges.
A bachelor’s degree in biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, or related fields is required. One to three years of laboratory experience with an emphasis on molecular cell biology and bioinformatics is strongly preferred.
A minimum commitment of 2 years is strongly preferred.
A minimum Education/Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Sciences (Biology/Chemistry) with 1-2 years experience in a Biological Laboratory Environment.
