Project description:

My research focuses on the interaction of the gut microbiome, graft versus leukemia effect (GVL) effect and immune reconstitution after allo-HSCT. The VDB group has previously shown that the diversity of the gut microbiome correlates with immune function and leukemia relapse after allo-HSCT. Based on these findings, I am investigating how gut microbiome can modulate immune reconstitution and regulate GVL. I hope that these studies could lead to microbial interventions which help reduce relapse risk of hematological malignancies post HSCT.
