The Tammela Lab is currently seeking a qualified Research Technician. We are looking for a self-motivated, inquisitive, ambitious, and enthusiastic person who thrives in a fast-paced environment and works well as part of a team. 

As a Research Technician in the group, you will provide technical support by performing experiments under the direct supervision of a postdoctoral researcher, and in collaboration with other MSKCC personnel and external associates. You will support mouse colony maintenance; handle research animals in procedures involving injection administration and collection/harvesting of tissues and fluids; and perform animal autopsies in order to conduct biochemical and histological identification and analysis.

 

The ideal candidate will provide assistance with other ongoing research including basic cloning, bacterial culture, mammalian tissue culture, and nucleic acid and protein extraction. You will also be involved in general lab upkeep of instruments, ordering supplies and maintaining reagent inventory, and preparation of solutions and lab stocks.
