Conventional and Stereotactic Radiation Therapy

As part of a multidisciplinary spine tumor symposium at MSK, radiation oncologist Yoshiya Yamada presents information about conventional and stereotactic radiation therapy. Tumor histology plays an important role in selecting the appropriate modality. Stereotactic radiation therapy, which delivers high doses of radiation to a smaller area, has multiple effects on tumor biology, enhancing its effectiveness for tumors that are normally resistant to radiation.
