Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC) is an academic medical center dedicated to cancer research, patient care, and education. The clinical arm of MSKCC is Memorial Hospital for Cancer and Allied Diseases, one of the teaching hospitals of the Joan and Sanford I. Weill Medical College of Cornell University (WMCCU).

In support of our educational mission, Memorial Hospital faculty offer clinical electives to FINAL year medical students. Electives are available to visiting students from US, Canadian and international medical schools listed in the International Medical Education Directory-IMED.

Applications for the July 2008 though June 2009 academic year are now being accepted.  Application procedures are different for medical students attending US/Canadian schools or international schools regardless of citizenship. Applicants are expected to comply with all requirements that apply to their school category. Please do not submit applications more than six months in advance of the requested elective date. Applications submitted more than six months in advance will be returned.

Please note: The MSKCC medical elective program is highly competitive. Applicants must demonstrate superior academic and supporting credentials.

Students are requested NOT to contact elective sponsors regarding elective placement. All inquiries should be directed to the Medical Student Coordinator at medstudent@mskcc.org.

Elective evaluation forms from home institutions will no longer be completed. Only MSKCC evaluation forms will be completed.
