Memorial Sloan-Kettering's Physician Referral Service is for people diagnosed with cancer who are interested in treatment offered at Memorial Sloan-Kettering. Therefore, the patient must be aware that this personal information is being shared with our staff.
When you contact us, we will ask for information about the patient's diagnosis, treatment to date, and other relevant information. This will help the referral specialists and oncology nurses who staff our Physician Referral Service determine how best to help the patient.
How to Contact Us
Patients, family members, caregivers, or healthcare professionals may contact our Service by calling 800-525-2225, or contact us online. Either method will start the appointment process for a new patient. If you choose to complete our online form, our staff will call you to collect additional information.
Waiting Time for Appointments
At Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, our physicians are specialists in specific kinds of cancer. As a result, the time it takes to arrange an appointment varies as we strive to carefully match our physicians' expertise with a patient's particular illness. For example, if you need to see a surgeon who specializes in sarcomas, an appointment could likely be made for you within a few days. For an appointment with a medical oncologist devoted to breast cancer, it might take several weeks, whereas leukemia and pediatric patients can usually be seen immediately. We understand how anxious you may be, however, and will do our best to respond to your needs as efficiently as possible.
