Patients with CML will be monitored throughout the course of their disease to make sure that their treatment continues to be effective and to watch for side effects of treatment. During these check-ups patients may undergo tests including a physical exam, blood tests, bone marrow aspirates/biopsies, x-rays, and scans. Patients who experience any new symptoms should contact their physician right away. The sooner these symptoms are evaluated and treated, the better the outcome is likely to be.

Most patients with CML in chronic or early accelerated phase feel well enough to maintain their regular routines. However, some patients do experience a decrease in their energy level. Our rehabilitation specialists are available to assist you with physical therapy needs. Visit the section on Rehabilitation for further information about our services, including appointment information.
