About Me

I am an endocrinologist who cares for people with thyroid cancer and thyroid nodules. I work as part of a team of many experts, including surgeons, radiologists, medical oncologists, and nuclear medicine specialists. We provide our patients with the most personalized, up-to-date care and work with them to make treatment decisions that offer the best possible outcomes.
My team and I are skilled in managing all types of thyroid cancers, from those that are at low risk of progressing, to advanced disease that has spread to other parts of the body. I give my patients the support, information, and resources they need to make decisions about their care.

When patients first come to see me, they often have many questions about how cancer treatment will affect the function of their thyroid gland and their hormones overall. Though endocrinology can be confusing, I strive to explain each patient’s condition in terms that are understandable and relatable.
Many patients are surprised to learn that some thyroid cancers can be managed with little or no intervention — a watch-and-wait approach known as active surveillance. As some cancers do require more active treatment, my research interests focus on harnessing what we know about thyroid function to find new therapies for advanced disease. I am proud to be part of a team of thyroid cancer specialists at MSK that shares this mission.
In addition to patient care, I am passionate about training the next generation of physicians. I enjoy teaching and mentoring medical students, fellows, other physicians, and patients themselves about the complex and fascinating field of endocrinology. I am an active member of the Endocrine Society and the American Thyroid Association.
Outside of practicing medicine, I spend most of my time keeping up with my three young children and our rambunctious golden retriever, Daisy.
