Irina Ostrovnaya
Irina Ostrovnaya, PhD
Assistant Attending Biostatistician

Current Research Interests:

Dr. Ostrovnaya is interested in statistical methods in cancer genomics and proteomics. One of the recent projects she has been working on involves developing methodology for distinguishing second primary tumors from metastases using point mutations or copy number alteration profiles. Other interests include developing new methods for indentifying copy number variations and multiple testing in genomics. Dr. Ostrovnaya is a biostatistician for POETIC (Pediatric Oncology Experimental Therapeutic Consortium) studies. She also collaborates with the high throughput screening lab at MSKCC to identify small molecules or genes that may lead to novel anticancer drugs. Finally, she is working with Dr. Paul Tempst on a study of the reproducibility of serum proteomic data.
