I obtained my Ph.D. at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) in Charleston, SC, where I uncovered the novel role of intracellular complement C3 activation and sphingolipid lipid metabolism crosstalk to induce NLRP3 inflammasome-mediated tumor metastasis.  I’m currently working on TGF-β-induced epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) molecular mechanisms in cancer.  Outside the lab, I enjoy playing soccer or basketball, and I love the English Premier League and the NBA.
