Kanayo Collins Nwankwo, MD, is a Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Fellow at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center/Weill Cornell Medicine with a clinical and research focus in pediatric stem cell transplantation, cellular therapy, sickle cell disease, and transplant immunobiology. His current research is centered on transplant-focused immune discovery and pharmacologic modeling, including PK/PD studies of rATG, fludarabine, and thiotepa in haploidentical transplant for sickle cell disease, immune reconstitution and peri-transplant PK studies in allo-HCT recipients, Day-30 CD4 checkpoint/activation receptor profiling for acute GVHD risk stratification, and predictors of CD34+ mobilization yield in sickle cell gene therapy. His long-term goal is to develop biologically informed, patient-specific strategies to improve graft durability, immune recovery, and transplant outcomes in children and young adults with hematologic disorders.
